Scrub Oak Leaves
Utah, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Old and dried scrub oak leaves still make a lovely pattern and study in texture when they curled as they dried. The dry climate and their leathery structure means they'll decay slowly. I may have been walking to the icon of Calf Creek Falls but beauty awaited me along the path, this time interpreted as a black-and-white study.
